Automated Portfolio Data Management System

An enhanced indexing firm needed an automatic system to manage data for portfolio creation and tracking on a daily and monthly basis. Data from various sources (Ford, Russell, Erlanger, etc.) was automatically gathered, processed, partitioned into shards, stored, and interfaced with third-party optimization software.

The system provided daily reports (status, transparency, performance, etc.), EDA statistics on data quality and extensive logging capabilities.

Risk-based and Rank-based Data Analysis System

The same enhanced indexing company needed a method to graphically explore returns data based on a risk- or rank-basis via a web interface. Graphs included cumulative returns by quantile, monthly performance by quantile, and monthly spread performance by quantile. Features included tooltips, AJAX-based data retrieval, and CSS-controlled formatting.
